The specialized programs at the Teterboro campus are: Aerospace Engineering is the primary branch of engineering concerned with the research, design, development, construction, testing, science, and technology of aircraft and spacecraft. Automotive Engineering & Design trains students to be automotive technicians able to handle today’s sophisticated automotive repair, engineering and laboratory environments.

Students work with computer-assisted design technology in a state-of-the-art lab. Commercial Art & Graphic Design primarily focuses on areas such as design, communication and marketing. The curriculum embraces new technology while emphasizing principles of art and design. Computer Science is aligned with recent trends such as mobile app development and cloud-based computing. The program supports research in communications information and network theory, with emphases on both client- and server- side programming. Culinology blends the science and technology of food production and preservation research with cooking and the culinary arts. It was approved by the Research Chefs Association. The school has the nation’s only Culinology facility, a separate science laboratory to conduct food chemistry and food microbiology experiments that is complemented by a state-of-the-art kitchen. Digital & Media Arts integrates digital art, design, technology and broadcasting. Students learn digital animation, interactive multimedia and more, utilizing text, sound, graphics, animation and video.

Fashion Art & Design students use high-end computer interfaces to experiment with design concepts and patterns before turning ideas into fashion statements. Graduates are well qualified for entry-level positions and entrance into fashion design institutes, colleges and universities. Law & Justice provides students with the foundation of laws, law practice, forensic science, criminology and technical methods used by various agencies to protect the public. Graduates can continue at a college, technical school, or law enforcement academy, or seek employment in support occupations within judicial and public safety professions. Strategic Asset Management capitalizes on Bergen County’s proximity to New York City - the financial capital of the world. Students prepare for careers in the financial services sector, including investment and commercial banking, brokerage, trading and investment management. Bergen County Technical High School – Paramus This school provides students with the academic and technical foundation to pursue either post-secondary educational opportunities or entrance into the workforce upon graduation.

The school’s secondary program has a full-time option for special needs students and a shared-time option for students from local sending districts. The school’s learning environment develops, encourages and supports its students. The school has an articulation agreement with Bergen Community College for select graduating students who want to further their education. Cosmetology prepares students to meet the examination and licensing requirements of the New Jersey State Board of Cosmetology for hair, scalp, skin and nail treatments. In addition to theory and classroom work, students work with mannequins and live models. Culinary Arts students typically concentrate on Baking for commercial baking, or Food Service for food preparation and presentation techniques for restaurants, cafeterias and institutional settings. Green Building Trades incorporates the latest sustainability practices in construction, electrical design, plumbing, masonry and HVAC. Healthcare Occupations students are trained to become Medical Office Assistants to help with administrative and clinical tasks at doctors’ offices. Information Technology introduces students to information and telecommunications technology. The program concentrates on developing skills and knowledge required for the CompTIA A+ Certification Examination. Landscape Design includes classroom instruction and practical applications.

Students learn how to place, plant and maintain turfs, shrubs and plantings; they also become proficient with design tools such as a t-square, French curve, protractor, scale ruler and computerized design programs. Skin Care/Esthetician students receive instruction in all facets of skin care and make-up artistry. Small Animal Care students work with live animals and learn grooming, veterinary assistance and animal care in the small animal care facility on campus. Visual & Graphic Design students learn advanced imaging techniques utilizing digital cameras, scanners and industry-standard software. Project-based learning includes advertising, editorial page design, posters, packaging and design for books, exhibitions and websites. A new technical school in 2015 Bergen County Technical Schools, in partnership with Bergen Community College, will open the Applied Technology High School in September 2015, a career and technical education high school. Students admitted to the new program will have a unique educational experience through a blend of academic high school curriculum, college classes and hands-on technical training.
