L.E.A.R.N. also concentrates on educating adopters and the public on the importance of spaying/neutering, training and the humane treatment of dogs. Why Do Labs Enter Into Rescue? Labrador Retrievers come into Rescue for various reasons. Some of the more common reasons are: The owner no longer wants their Lab. The owner’s life changes, and they are no longer able to care for their Lab. Whatever the reason, L.E.A.R.N. is dedicated to giving these lovable dogs a new start and finding them a suitable forever home. What Happens After Labs Enter Rescue?
Labs in need of a new home are evaluated before being brought into L.E.A.R.N. and then placed into one of our foster homes. While in foster care, L.E.A.R.N. takes care of any needed vetting (shots, heartworm testing, spaying/neutering, etc.), evaluates the training the Lab has or needs and determines the kind of home best suited for the Lab. After a Lab has been in foster care for a couple of weeks, we begin the process of finding them a forever home.Cheap Bedroom Furniture Sets Under 200 Uk Does it Cost Money to Adopt from L.E.A.R.N?Shower Head Framing Adoption fees help us pay for necessary medical expenses. Ellie is not the type of dog who likes parks or walks where others are around.
A confident, well rounded dog in the house would be great for Ellie. During rain and thunderstorms, Ellie will need a safe place.  If you are home, she will stick to you like glue but will find her own space and comfort when her humans are not present.  Ellie has not been crated and her foster mom does not recommend doing this with her. Ellie is not destructive.  Ellie is on Fluoxetine to help keep her calm and will need time and patience adjusting to a new home. Ellie knows sit, down, come and stay, when she trusts you. Ellie likes catsonce she gets her sniffing done. Ellie does not like chaos and children under 12.  Many of us have experience with shy dogs and can give Ellie's new family tips and tools for Ellie's success. Kip is a 7.5 year old black Labrador Retriever Kip is a wonderful dog. She is sweet and will cuddle up with you on the couch. She will chase (but maybe not bring back!) balls that you throw her over and over again. She is a wonderful running and walking partner and loves to sniff and explore each and every plant in the neighborhood. Her dog daycare staff all adore her and she spends most of her days as the "lobby dog" hanging out with them and getting special treats. She does a full body wag every time someone she loves comes through the door and she pushes herself against you to get as close as possible as you give her greeting pets and scratches.
She is also well-trained and completely housebroken. She knows the following commands: sit, stay, come, lay down, take it, leave it, target, go to your bed and watch me. She would be most happy as the only dog in her home. Stanley is a 7.5 year old spaniel mix, approximately 25 pounds, seeks companionship, fun, and comfort. He's in great health, neutered, fully vaccinated/worm-free, and microchipped. Stanley (nee Shelby) enjoys walks, snuggles, and play, but also enjoys early bed times and late mornings too. He is crate trained, but also is capable of staying home by himself outside his crate (he is also fully housebroken). Good on leash, good in car, he also enjoys being a dog about the town. He occasionally enjoys the company of other dogs, but not cats. Stanley prefers a home with adults and older respectful children, he is very loving and wants to be everyone's friend. He'd love to meet you! Winston is 2 to 3 year old Treeing Walker CoonhoundWinston is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, house-trained, and crate-trained.
He loves to go for long walks and heels very nicely with a prong collar. Loves water buffalo horns and toys (especially tennis balls). Knows his basic commands-sit, down, and stay. He is very good with other dogs and loves to wrestle around. Not good with cats. Does fine with kids if introduced in a controlled environment. At the end of the day he is happy to curl up on the couch and cuddle with you. He’s also very well behaved on car rides.  Winston does have a behavioral issue. He has a 'fear aggression' towards men and potentially strangers entering the house. He does well once he has been introduced, he would just need someone to continue working on his manners and be aware of his potential. Winston recently completely a 2 week bootcamp, which helped a lot. This sweet dog really needs someone to commit to giving him a loving and structured home.
