Oregon Dog Rescue is a no-kill shelter serving the greater Portland, Oregon area.It is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization started in 2007 by two women with a combined twelve years of experience with rescue dogs. All of our dogs are housed in a family setting.We started SCS because we saw a need for another dog rescue in the Salem area. We take in owner surrenders and shelter transfers. Our main focus is Oregon dogs and their owners. We are very passionate about our dogs and we know them all like our own. We will do a home check and for this reason, most of our adoptions are limited to a 50 mile radius.
Exceptions are made on a case by case basis.The adoption fee varies based on the special needs of the dog. If the routine needs of the dog are higher the adoption fee of the dog is higher. Senior dogs adopted through SCS qualify for lifetime free exams. Adoption fees typically start at $150.The adoption fee includes spay/neuter, microchip ID, collar and SCS I.D. tag, initial vaccines, free veterinarian exam, and plenty of post adoption support!All dogs adopted through SCS are spayed/neutered before they leave our care.Learn how to protect yourself from Internet scams.
