Wednesday, April 1st 2015. I stopped by early afternoon to park my rental car and visit the Hollywood and Highland area. It really is not that far away by walking. And when the traffic is as heavy as it was, walking there is probably quicker. I arrived and did not notice the driveway at the front door off of La Brea. So I went around the corner on Lanewood Ave and parked in a spot that ended up facing my hotel room door.
Check in was fast and I had my room key in no time. The room key doubles as the swipe card for the underground parking entrance gate. Located on Lanewood Ave. The underground parking area can be a bit tight if you had a larger vehicle. I had a small rental car and it was very manageable. My room was clean, spacious and comfortable. I had a king bed that was very comfortable and the pillow was above average for my comfort. The shower was clean and worked well. King Size Bedroom Sets RusticAnd the bathroom sink and counter area was clean. Car Repair WaterlooThe tv worked fine. Cheap Sofa Loveseat CoversWifi worked fine too. The room had a microwave and mini fridge. The traffic noise could be a bit bothersome to some, but I managed quite well wearing ear plugs.
I felt secure enough in my room after seeing the locked gates and doors around the facility. I was quite comfortable. I did not use the pool or take advantage of the breakfast. The price I paid was very fair. If the price was right again on a future visit, I would certainly stay here again. Quality Inn Near Hollywood Walk Of FameThis hotel is about a ten-minute walk to Grauman's Chinese Theatre and to the Red line Metro which is veryconvenient. We arrived at Los Angeles Airport and took the FlyAway bus to Union Station. After touring the Downtown area-- El Pueblo, Little Tokyo, the Bradbury Building, the Walt Disney Concert Hall-we walked to the Red Line Metro station "Civic Center" and took it to the station "Hollywood/Highland," which is very near the hotel. Please note that it is a good idea to buy a Metro TAP card at Union Station. We bought a 7-day unlimited one ($21.00) You can also pay exact change ($1.50,but you usually need 2 buses and there are no free transfers). The train, however, does not take you to many other tourist sites.
Instead we used buses which are again conveniently located a half-block from this hotel. Although sometimes we had to wait a little longer than we would have liked for a Los Angeles bus, we were able to go pretty much everywhere. See the Los Angeles Metro website for directions. In fact, we found it preferable to being stuck in traffic and looking for parking. Upon leaving Los Angeles for San Diego, we rented a car from Avis to which we took the Red Line and Purple line. Again this location turned out to be convenient. Quality Inn Near Hollywood Walk Of FameI spent 3 nights here mid November with my son. The hotel is easy to find and conveniently located about a 10 minute walk from the main attractions on Hollywood Blvd. The staff were friendly and helpful and we were most fortunate that we were able to check into our room early. This was a great relief and much appreciated after the 15hr flight from AUS. The hotel and rooms are clean and tidy, the beds comfortable and facilities adequate.
I concur with other review which state the decor is a little dated but I don't see this as a deal breaker. You don't travel 15000 km to sit in your hotel room all day. The pool deck paint scheme is however 'interesting'. The breakfast on offer is more than adequate to get your day started I've also stayed in the nearby Hollywood Orchid Suites albeit in a self contained room. I would not hesitate to recommend the Quality Inn to any traveler looking for comfortable accommodation conveniently located near the walk of fame and surrounds.8 of America's kinkiest hotel rooms Sometimes you don't want to spend a week at a swingers resort.
