Party Dresses For 40th Birthday

Keith Lemon's 40th birthday party was never going to be a low key affair and his famous friends made sure the 'Celebrity Juice' host had a night to remember as he celebrated this weekend. Keith, or Leigh Francis as his mum likes to call him, dressed up as Gary Oldman's version of Dracula as he was joined by a whole host of celeb chums for the fancy dress bash at London's Gilgamesh restaurant. Keith Lemon aka Leigh Francis arrives for his 40th birthday bash We barely recognised Jodie Marsh who squeezed into a catsuit and had her face painted blue to go as Na'vi from Avatar, which was a far cry from the model-turned-bodybuilder's usual scantily clad look. And it sounds like Jodie had a great night, later tweeting: "Night night folks. That was officially the best night of my life :-) in bed with my Kindle now #rocknroll. Hope you liked the pics #avatar xx." New mum Fearne Cotton got the night off from looking after her two month old baby son, Rex. The DJ looked good enough to eat in her cupcake outfit and was reunited with her fellow 'Celeb Juice' captain and bezzie, Holly Willoughby inside the bash.

Meanwhile, Geri Halliwell went as a Bavarian milk maid (we think) while her fellow Spice Girls Mel C and Emma Bunton dusted down some of their old stage costumes to come as their alter egos Sporty and Baby. As she prepares to celebrate in low-key fashion with friends and family tonight in Los Angeles, we look back at Mrs. Beckham’s poshest wardrobe picks over the years, tracing her evolution from slinky and sexy dresses to the subdued sheaths that have become a chic signature for her eponymous line.

Playing with hair color, Beckham went bold and blonde at the civil partnership ceremony for friends Sir Elton John and David Furnish, and accented her fur coat with an dazzling display of diamonds. Shortly thereafter, she debuted a new shorter cut at the wedding of Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise, showing off her physique in a strapless Giambattista Valli dress and Philip Treacy hat. And in 2006 Beckham captivated the red carpet at the Met Gala in a strapless Roland Mouret dress that complemented her ruby and diamond necklace. At the Met Gala in 2008—the same year she showed her first Victoria Beckham collection—the designer and husband David were the golden couple in custom ensembles from Giorgio Armani. Though perhaps it was at 2009’s “The Model as Muse” Met Gala when Beckham, balanced whimsy and elegance in Marc Jacobs, fully solidifying her standing a fashion force to be reckoned with. While recent years have seen Victoria Beckham opt for tame tones, we love how she makes something as simple as a navy dress seem sensual yet appropriate.
